Dr. Suttles takes an integrative, holistic and collaborative approach to counseling, focusing on each individual’s journey and meeting the individual where they are. She takes a strengths-based, and creative approach to counseling children, adolescent, young adults, and families. Dr. Suttles has extensive experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and other emotional, behavioral and social difficulties.
She works alongside her clients to establish a therapeutic relationship that provides a foundation to identify goals and move toward them together utilizing play therapy, expressive-arts interventions, mindfulness, skill building and person-centered talk therapy as appropriate. By establishing a cooperative and supportive relationship, clients can feel safe to explore, be their authentic selves and begin working through current life difficulties to facilitate lasting change.
Over the years, Dr. Suttles has had the opportunity to serve clients in a variety of setting, including private practice, schools, universities, and mental health hospitals. Her experience includes helping clients face a multitude of issues ranging from anxiety, depression, grief, relationships, family conflict life transitions, school issues, behavioral challenges, self-esteem, identity and chronic illness among others.
In her free time, Dr. Suttles enjoys spending time outside and a good adventure. She loves spending time with her dog, Finn, her family and friends. She also loves to cook and take on new projects!
