Psychological Evaluations
North Metro Psychological Services provides comprehensive psychological evaluations for children, adolescents, and adults in Marietta and throughout the greater Atlanta area. All assessments are completed by experienced doctoral-level clinicians, never by psychometrists.
You or your child will receive an individualized evaluation with a psychologist experienced in ADHD, autism, learning differences, and diagnostic clarification. Our goal is to provide an affirming and supportive assessment experience that recognizes both strengths and areas where additional support may be helpful.

Our Evaluation Services
We provide psychological evaluations for children, adolescents, and adults in the following areas:
ADHD Testing & Evaluations – Comprehensive assessment of attention, executive functioning, developmental history, and related concerns for children, teens, and adults.
Autism Evaluations for Children – Neurodiversity-affirming assessment of social communication, sensory experiences, developmental history, strengths, and support needs.
Adult & Teen Autism Evaluations – Autism evaluations for teens and adults, including later-identified, high-masking, and more subtle presentations. Virtual options are available when appropriate.
Psychoeducational & Learning Disability Evaluations – Assessment of cognitive and academic functioning to identify learning differences such as dyslexia, dysgraphia, and dyscalculia and to guide educational support.
Evaluations for Accommodations – Comprehensive evaluations for school, college, standardized testing, professional licensing examinations, and workplace accommodations when clinically supported.
Combined Autism & ADHD Evaluations – Broader assessment when both autism and ADHD are suspected or when overlapping concerns require additional diagnostic clarification.
Gifted & Twice-Exceptional Evaluations – Identification of advanced cognitive abilities alongside ADHD, autism, learning differences, or other areas requiring support.
Intellectual & Developmental Evaluations – Assessment of cognitive, developmental, and adaptive functioning to better understand strengths and support needs.
Diagnostic Clarification – Broader psychological assessment when symptoms overlap, previous diagnoses do not fully explain current concerns, or a more complete understanding of emotional and psychological functioning is needed.
Katie Beckett/Deeming Waiver & Social Security Disability Evaluations – Psychological assessment to assist with documentation of cognitive, developmental, adaptive, or psychological functioning when appropriate.
PANDAS/PANS Evaluations – Specialized psychological assessment when concerns involve the intersection of medical, behavioral, emotional, and neuropsychological factors.
Our Approach
We believe an evaluation should provide more than a diagnosis or a collection of test scores.
Our assessments are strengths-based and neurodiversity-affirming, with an emphasis on understanding how each person thinks, learns, communicates, and experiences their environment. We consider developmental history, current functioning, lived experience, and the interaction among cognitive, emotional, behavioral, and environmental factors.
Our reports are written in clear, accessible language and include individualized recommendations that may be helpful at home, at school, in treatment, in college, or in the workplace.
Which Evaluation Is Right for Me?
The most appropriate type of evaluation depends on the concerns being addressed and the purpose of the assessment.
For example:
Concerns primarily involving attention, organization, or executive functioning may suggest an ADHD evaluation.
Concerns involving social communication, sensory differences, masking, or autistic traits may suggest an autism evaluation.
Difficulties with reading, writing, mathematics, or academic performance may suggest a psychoeducational evaluation.
When several areas overlap or formal accommodations are needed, a broader comprehensive evaluation may be more appropriate.
